Baimbridge College Student Representative Council (SRC)
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is made up of 2 students from each year level from Years 7 to 12. Guided and supported by Mrs Colquhoun, the SRC convenes on a weekly basis to discuss matters of concern raised by students, to coordinate and oversee fundraising initiatives, and to develop recommendations for new programs or policies that may enhance the school community.
Over the years, the SRC has played a pivotal role in shaping aspects of school life. For instance, the Council successfully submitted a proposal to the School Council that resulted in the introduction of blazers as an optional uniform item for students in Year 9 to 12. It has also contributed to changes in the uniform policy, including the addition of jackets and beanies, as well as adjustments to the uniform policy. These achievements highlight the SRC's ability to advocate for student needs while working constructively with the broader school community.
In addition, two SRC representative attend each School Council meeting, where they are responsible for presenting student concerns and providing valuable a valuable student perspective on issues under consideration.
Beyond its advisory role, the SRC also serves as an important representative body at key school events and community functions. Members regularly participate in major assemblies and take an active role in significant occasions such as ANZAC Day ceremonies, thereby strengthening the connection between the school and the wider community.
