The 2018 transition program will run in February with an information evening on the same date.
This will be a Grade 6 transition day in which all grade 6 students at all schools in the surrounding area will be invited to attend.
Principal tours will run in February, please call the College to book on 55 722788 for catering purposes.
The Grade 5 school visit will run in June, this day is open to ALL Primary Schools and designed to make the transition process easier for Primary Students, regardless of their choice of Secondary Education. We have found that by the time our students arrive in Year 7, they are very comfortable with being a Secondary School Student and the exposure to the environment from Grade 5 has a lot to do with this. Students come in to the school whilst our Year 9's and 10's are on camp and doing work experience and the day is full of interesting subjects to be enjoyed without the thoughts of school selection.
All information will be sent to Primary Schools to ensure you are kept up to date and have your options open for choosing your child's secondary educational home.
If you have questions regarding what to look for in a Secondary School please read the information provided in this link.
Whilst we recognise that this is very early in the year we have found it beneficial for your child's final year of Primary School to be secure in the knowledge of where they will be attending secondary school, once this decision is made the students relax and also begin to strengthen bonds with fellow attendees.
If you miss the information evening you can attend the Principal Tours, in which our Principal Mr Warwick Price will personally take you on a tour of the school, ending in the HDSC with Coffee and Muffins from our amazing Mr Anthony "Gilly" MacGillivray.
Throughout the year you can make an appointment for a tour with Mr Ewan MacDonald, our Middle Years Sub School Manager at any time.
Once enrolment information has been sent to the College we will hold parent information evening to fully prepare you for the following year. These sessions cover all aspects of what you need in preparation for the year ahead and all paperwork will be completed at these sessions to negate the need for frequent visits to the college.
The grade 6 Orientation day will be held in December where students will spend the day in their 2018 Form groups. Students will be assigned their 2018 lockers and familiarise themselves with the college.
