The Program for Students with a Disability at Baimbridge College.
The Program for Students with a Disability enables all students to have access to the curriculum and the community life of the school.
The overall program goals are for students to:
· Be effectively included to participate in the normal school program.
· Be equipped with skills for future employment and training
· Be linked to community agencies to develop options for life after school.
RESOURCE PERSONNEL:
The program is managed by Mr Roger Lewis, our Integration Coordinator, who, with a team of experienced education support officers assist students in all aspects of curriculum and extra curricula activities of the College.
Assistance is given in the following areas:
· The adaptation and modification of classroom work
· In class Aide support
· In-service activities for staff and school community
· Testing and examination alternatives
· VCE modifications and work requirement negotiations
· Life skills (involves money management, time tables, transport, cooking and leisure activities)
· Work placements, for transition to work, post school
· One to one and small group tutorial times for students
· Liaising and working with the community
· Attendance at camps and excursions
